MAYOR’S MESSAGE
JASON WARD
I am both humbled and
honored to serve as the new
Mayor for the City of Benbrook.
It is an exciting time as Benbrook
moves forward and looks to the
future, while striving to keep our small-town charm
alive. Benbrook’s quality of life, community pride, and
friendly business atmosphere makes it the perfect
place to raise a family and grow a business.
The implementation of the 2020 Comprehensive
Plan is serving as Benbrook’s roadmap into the
future. The completion of the Benbrook Boulevard
reconstruction project has reenergized the community
and has enhanced Benbrook’s vitality. This is helping
to attract new businesses to the corridor and the
community, while spurring existing businesses and
property owners to reinvest back into their buildings.
The Benbrook Community and Economic Development
Corporation updated its strategic plan, which
incorporates the goals of the comprehensive plan to
redevelop and revitalize distressed properties, retain
existing quality businesses, recruit new businesses
to help improve Benbrook’s economy, and assist with
improving infrastructure.
With the passing of the 2021 Bond Election,
the community will be getting a new two story,
approximately 35,000 square-foot, Municipal Complex
for a new police station, senior center, city hall, and
visitor’s center. It will provide residents and businesses
a space for a one-stop shop for city services with
many exciting outdoor amenities. This complex will
also serve as the anchor for the proposed downtown
development.
Benbrook’s ideal location to the metroplex and
quality of life is also attracting residential builders
and new residents. More than 374 residential
apartment units and 230 residential lots are expected
to be developed this year. Benbrook’s location and
residential demand has also prompted a new charter
school to be built in the community.
As the Mayor of Benbrook, I am committed to
improving the lives of residents, keeping our city
at the forefront of quality economic and business
development, and maintaining the safety of our
neighborhoods. I am excited to serve the Benbrook
community in this capacity. I look forward to the
continued success of the partnerships we have
established with residents and businesses as we all
work together to Build a Better Benbrook!
