Mayor’s Message
Jerry B. Dittrich
Mayor of Benbrook
Chairman’s Message
RICK DALTON, DALTON PHOTOGRAPHY
They say the true test of a person’s character is most obvious during
times of adversity. I believe that is true of communities as well. This
past year, our community has come together like no other time that
I recall. Our citizens, organizations, businesses, and City staff have pulled
together to meet the needs and ease the pain caused by the pandemic.
Through collaboration, cooperation, and innovation, our community
is reaching out to help each other. From churches and city programs
providing meals and supplies to our most vulnerable populations, to the
Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and the Benbrook Economic
Development Corporation working in unity to provide useful resources
to our business family, to area banks helping businesses navigate CARES
Act funding, to City Council approving a local Disaster Relief Grant to
assist Benbrook businesses in meeting their rent or mortgage payments.
And, of course, our first responders always hold a special place in our
hearts. But this year, we take extra pride in the work of those that put their
lives on the line for us every day; our nationally recognized Benbrook
Police and Fire departments.
We know the sacrifices our citizens have made to keep our community
safe. While we have suspended our usual festivals and events, we remain
hopeful that when we do come back together, we will have gained a new
appreciation for all that it means to live, work, and play in Benbrook.
Our business family has adjusted to tremendous challenges, finding new
ways to provide goods and services to our community. We are proud of
their innovation and we are pleased to announce that sales tax collections
remain high, that we see continued interest from the development/retail
community, and that our residents remain loyal by shopping local and
supporting our Small Town, Big Backyard!
On behalf of Benbrook City Council, thank you all for Building a Better
Benbrook!

As the 2021-2022 Benbrook Area Chamber of
Commerce Chair, I am honored once again to
work alongside our dedicated Chamber Staff and
Board who all share the same vision for business growth
and a healthy community environment.
The mission of the Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce
is to support the continuous improvement to the quality
of life for our community through the support and
commitment of its members, volunteers and committees.
To achieve our mission, we must promote community
assets and support business retention and satisfaction.
The Benbrook area is fortunate to have leaders, business
owners, educators, citizens and a chamber who realize
that we all share in the responsibility of creating economic
success and happiness within our community and we desire
all businesses to prosper and grow in the years ahead!
The Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce provides
a variety of networking, advertising, educational and
social opportunities during the year to its members. The
Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor
events throughout the year to support the community and
even though many public gatherings and events were
canceled or postponed due the challenges brought about by
a global pandemic in 2020, we strongly hope that we can
participate in these again very soon.
Thank you again for your support and thank you to the
Chamber Staff, Board members, Committee members,
Ambassadors and Volunteers. We will continue to pursue
excellence in all that we do at the Chamber for our
wonderful Benbrook community.
Benbrook-tx.gov Sincerely, Anita Grogan
